Teeth and standing tall!

Check out those teeth! They are just starting to break through the gums!
Just looking cute

He can now pull himself up on the couch. It really does seem like he is learning to do all these new things all at once. He just started pulling himself up to stand by grabbing up to our hands last week and now he can pull himself up to stand by himself. He has yet to figure out how to crawl properly but he can army crawl all over. He has also discovered how to crawl up steps! We have 2 steps that go up from the den to the kitchen and today he made it up them!

He's still confused about this crawling thing. Doesn't his face show it all?

Yawn... can you see the little teeth?

Isn't he a cutie?

Just hanging out
Had one too many beers ;-)

Hoping for 4 more months!

Everyone says Ashton will walk early... I'm hoping for another 4 months before we reach that developmental milestone. He is so stubborn and adamant - he may very well walk soon. He is already pulling himself up on our hands to stand up and definitely prefers to be upright and every now and then will let go and be able to stand for a couple of seconds before toppling over. He's only 8 months old! I'm shouting at him... you have the rest of your life to walk! Let's just stay immobile for 4 more months!

Walking with assistance

Trying on Grandpa Domi's shoes. I think they're still a little big

Check out the shoes... aren't they cute!

Ashton's new favorite activity is walking (with assistance of course). He definitely prefers to be upright than crawling everywhere. He still isn't properly crawling but he is starting to use both legs during his army crawl.

Learning to get up

Ashton is learning how to pull himself up to a standing position but he still needs a little leverage from a helping hand from Nana Dee (my Mom).

More laughing

Ashton thinks almost everything is funny. I was eating an unripe peach that was quite sour and he thought it was hilarious when I made the sour face.

Soccer player?

We discovered Ashton loves to kick the soccer ball. He holds onto our hands, runs to the soccer ball, and gives it a little nudge. It's so cute to hear him squeal with delight when he realizes he kicked the ball.

Thanks Tom!

This is what my kitchen looked like the 1st day we moved in. In one weekend, we purchased new appliances, tore down the wallpaper, and painted. We replaced the ugly yellow linoleum with updated linoleum.

Matt's Dad, Tom, has spent the week with us helping update our kitchen. He just has one little finishing touch to do but here is my updated kitchen! Matt and Tom got a majority of the work done last weekend with Tom putting the finishing touches this week! It's so awesome to have such handy family members. Matt did the electrical and plumbing and Tom did the countertops, backsplash, and finishing touches! Before... boring old laminate countertops and antique porcelain sink.

Notice the lack of dishwasher. Yes, I have been living without a dishwasher for 2 years!

Wow! Check out those countertops! They are the prefabricated countertops available at Lowe's!

Check out the dishwasher! They had to put it on the end since the old cabinets are all one piece. I can't believe how easy it is to do the dishes!

Grandpa Tom visits

Grandpa Tom is here to help Matt complete our kitchen updates. But what's a little visit without a little Ashton loving.

Big boy toys

Ashton loves pushing the soccer ball around.
Playing with the drums. Good thing they play a little musical instead of real drum noises!

Standing like a big boy with a little play table.

Trying to stand

Ashton thinks he can stand! I went out a bought a little table he can hold onto. More videos to come I'm sure!

Biter biscuits!

One day Ashton's little teeth are going to come on through! But for now, we're just a gum full of smiles!

On our knees!

Ashton can get onto his knees every now and then. He can only rock back and forth but it's only a matter of time when he will really be mobile!
