Violet's 1st steps
Violet took her 1st steps this weekend! We enjoyed a lovely weekend retreat to celebrate my sister-in-law's upcoming wedding. My mother-in-law flew us all to Phoenix since my other sister-in-law is also pregnant, due in 9 weeks. We thoroughly enjoyed the Arizona March weather which was pleasantly in the 70s. We enjoyed a full day of shopping on Saturday and an extravagant spa day on Sunday including mani's, pedi's, facials, and a massage! Ashton enjoyed spending time with his cousin, William. Violet found a new fondness for her Unlce Jon. And to top it off, Violet took her 1st steps! On Satuday, she took a couple of bobble steps with one foot which transferring from a table to the wall. Then on Sunday, she took 3-4 steps from me to her Grandma! I'm ready for this little girl to walk!

Fun little girl
Watch Violet Grow - 11 months
Wow! Violet will be 1 year old next month! Developmentally - she still has yet to take her 1st steps but she is cruising all over the place. She will stand on her own for a few seconds with much encouragement. She loves to wave hi and bye and can say "hi." She loves to clap her hands and dance to music. She bops her head up and down, and puts her hands in the air, and now claps. It's really cute! She loves to climb and explore. She has 6 teeth (4 top, 2 bottom). Her words include hi and uh-oh. She is transitioning to real food but is really messy. She is really a sweet girl. She loves to give hugs and cuddle. She is a great sleeper and usually sleeps 13 hours at night plus 2 naps during the day (1 1/2 to 2 hours long). She loves her pink bunny and pacifier. She loves to "play" with Ashton's trains (to Ashton's dismay). I will think of more later. She is still a petite little thing but is quite fiesty at "school" and uses her voice well. She is a tough little cookie and tolerates Ashton's hugs and kisses.

Violet progresses!
Today Violet clapped!! And she has been standing on her own without support for a couple days now! She still won't take her 1st steps but it seems like it's within days or probably weeks!

Finally a nice day!
Violet walks with assistance
She's a funny but resourceful girl. I thought for sure she would be walking by now, but she still has yet to take her 1st steps. She has stood on her own for quite a few seconds, but I'm ready for her to walk now. She so desperately wants to walk but just won't do it. Plus I'm getting tired of carrying her all over the place! Soon she will be chasing after Ashton in no time!

That's my boy! He really is a smart kid. After Matt and I showed him who President Obama is, he can identify him! Smart kid!
Everybody's dancing
It was a fun morning and both kids were in a good mood. After a month of illness, it's good to finally have days like this!
