25 weeks pregnant

Wow I have grown quite a bit in 5 weeks! 15 weeks to go and BabyB #3 will be here. He is still unnamed and will probably be until I get to see the little guy. Like Ashton and Violet, we go in with a list of names and end up with something totally different. So we will see in about 4 months what he looks like. I had an ultrasound last week which showed he measured a week larger than his estimated due date. So we'll see if he is bigger or if it means he will show up a week earlier! He is an active little guy and loves to push and kick at my belly button from the inside giving me a little buzz feeling. It's very ackward and icky!

1 year update

Violet weighs in at a hefty (hah) 18 pounds, 8 ounces and is a towering 27 3/4 inches tall. That puts her ~10th%ile for her age on the "old" growth charts. On the new WHO growth charts, she shoots up to the 25th%ile for weight. Although she is very tiny, she is very proportional at the 50-75th%ile.

Something clicked with Violet in the last couple of days but all of a sudden she has become a walker! I am so excited that she has finally decided to walk. She lets go and will just walk across the room! I guess it's time to put a gate at the bottom of the stairs!

Wow! Where did the time go?! I can't believe one year has flown by with the blink of an eye! Everyday Violet is getting braver and braver in terms of walking. It seems like today was the "ah ha" moment for her. She has been letting go and taking many steps before losing her balance and falling. It seems like she really would prefer to walk now. Thankfully! I am weaning her off her bottles in the next week or two and then onto her pacifier! She really does like that thing! She is 100% on table foods although I am still finding what she likes. Favorites are ravioli, spaghettios, mac and cheese. Surprisingly, she is not so much into waffles. She does very well with fruits and vegetables and loves graham crackers. She babbles quite a bit and continues with "uh oh" and "no no no no no." She says doi doi doi which is quite funny. And will say mama but I'm not sure if it's in context. She is still a tiny little thing. Her 1 year appointment is tomorrow so we'll see how "big" she actually is! She is barely into 12-18 month clothes but I refuse to buy anything smaller since it needs to last all summer and only wears a 3 1/2 size shoe. She is a very sweet girl who loves hugs and cuddles. One funny thing is that she gets jealous when Ashton is sitting on my lap. Whenever he comes and sits on me, she crawls towards me whining and then squeezes herself onto my lap as well. I wonder how she's going to be in just 4 short months?!

Spring day of bikes and swings

Ashton got a new bike from Grandpa Tom and loved it. Violet was able to enjoy some bike time of her own as well. All of the sudden, Ashton's old tricycle has become a "baby bike." While Ashton was enjoying his bike, Violet enjoyed the swing. What started out as a cloudy, windy, chilly day ended up being quite pleasant.
