A quick pitstop in Pismo

 It was too beautiful a day to not stop in Pismo. Plus the thought of Splash Cafe had me turning off at Price Street. I was going to simply take it to go but decided to take a quick pit stop and enjoy the day.

 Ashton enjoyed climbing the pier fence. 

 Even a cranky and tired Violet enjoyed the day.

Violet shows that she is going to be a climber as well. When I pulled her down she kicked her legs and giggled. Oh big sigh... she's going to be trouble!

Watch Violet Grow - 10 months

Violet is 10 months old. Developmentally - she can stand (hesitantly on her own), walks while holding onto furniture, can transfer from couch to couch, crawls, and oh yes, climbs. She has 6 teeth. Loves to eat baby yogurt, Gerber puffs, and animal crackers. She loves to chase down Ashton's sippy cups and finishes off what's left of his chocolate milk. She baby babbles quite a bit and I swear she says, "uh oh." She says dadadada, nanana, mamama. Other than "uh oh" nothing else is specific. And her favorite... waving hi and bye! She takes awesome naps and has perfected sleeping through the night to Mommy's delight. Her bedtime is 6:30pm (7pm at the latest) and usually sleeps until at least 6:30am (sometimes even 8am)!! She loves to walk while holding onto Mommy's hands and chase Ashton down. She thinks everything Ashton does is hilarious, with the exception of his head butts which are intended to be love taps. She is very sweet and still loves big hugs.

 Matt sent us some videos of him reading books. This came at the perfect time. I think Ashton really needed this and he absolutely loved it. He kept saying, "Daddy's here." It was adorable!

What Violet is up to these days

 She is just an advanced little girl. She is already drinking out of a sippy cup. I think the transition is going to go very smoothly!

 This is pretty much her lately... drooly and snotty!

 More drool... poor girl is trying to get her top 4 teeth. Her 2 front teeth are about 1/2 way through and her side 2 top teeth have broken through. Not only is she trying to get over all of her cooties, she is getting all these teeth at one time!

 She enjoys riding on the back of Ashton's bike. She also loves riding on a ride-along toy while being pushed while chasing Ashton. She thinks that is hilarious!

She is making the slow transition to table food. She still prefers the baby food so this is really just for play. But at least she gave the rice and green beans a try. Most days she just plays and pushes it aside. Baby food is so much cleaner and easier. Oh my days are numbered!

What Ashton is up to these days

 Ashton really enjoys playing with all of his "pieces" of train tracks these days. Unfortunately he still gets pretty frustrated or upset when the track falls apart or his trains tip over. Both of which promptly leads to him tearing the track apart and putting it away. At least he's helpful in cleaning it up!

Ashton loves to give kisses these days. Parker was on the receiving end of them this night. I guess it's better than Ashton pulling his tail or riding him like a horse!

The last month has been plagued with illness between the two kids. This weekend was beautiful and my Dad so kindly cleaned up our backyard with the help of Ashton. Ashton just loves being a little helper!

I think Ashton was helping. He also enjoyed raking the leaves in the wrong direction!

More things to remember

Violet has "happy feet" when she is excited! It's so cute! I can't believe I forgot this in my first "Things to Remember." She kicks her legs when is being held and is excited about something.

Ashton - is a very loving little boy. When he wakes up, he rolls over (if he's in my bed which is fairly often now) he hugs me and says, "I love you Mommy." Then the crawls over me, grabs my glasses and cell phone and says he wants to go downstairs for chocolate milk and Caillou. We have the same bedtime routine every night. Brush his teeth, put on chapstick, use the potty, turn on his humidifier (mainly for the nightime part of it), his nightlight that projects on the ceiling, and his snowman nightlight (courtesy of the clearance after Christmas), read a book, and tell a story, which usually consists of a recall of our day, and always ends with and Mommy gives you a kiss goodnight (he says mm-ah) and says I love you. Then after he says I love you, he tells me to leave the door open and the (top of the stairs) gate open. And on top of being a very loving boy... he can be a terrible 2 year old who throws a temper tantrum like the best of them. Most recently involved crying when talking which is very annoying! He loves going to Target, Costco, and Barnes and Noble (if I didn't mention this is the last posting). Oh! And how can I forget?! He did a #2 in the potty for the 4th time EVER! I am anxiously awaiting him to be potty trained since #3 is on the way. Everyone tells me "boys take longer" but I don't care! I'm just going to have a little investment in underwear until he gets it right!
