Rustoleum Cabinet Transformations - Not My Best Decisions

So remember a few years ago, we went from Oak to Rustoleum Cabinet Transformations?

Remember this... such a deal?! Right?! For $150 (the cost of two kits), my kitchen was transformed!

From this...

To this...

Yeah...it was so pretty. For a little while! I can safely say with confidence, DO NOT DO THIS!

Two years later, and two more kids, it looked like this...
Gross right?! The "paint" was not easy to clean with a wash rag.

So I guess it looks fine if you aren't going to touch it.

But if you are... watch out! It does scratch off... easily!

Granted, we do have four kids but really?! It should clean off easier than this!

So, off to Pinterest I went to research "How to paint your cabinets (correctly)."
So, we sanded...

And labeled...

And 3 weeks later,

Well, it's still a mess but it really does brighten up the place. So I followed the "real" (ie correct) way of doing things. I sanded things down, primed, and then painted with two coats. And here we are a month later, the cabinet doors are mostly done. I have 4 more doors to complete the last coat of paint. I have the hardware. But the hubs still needs to drill the holes. I am too afraid of messing that up! So, let's cross our fingers that this weekend, after a month, that our kitchen can be back to normal!

Happy First Birthday Eliza

Eliza's birthday fell on a Tuesday and we had a nice dinner together with cupcakes made by the kids. We sang her happy birthday... then do you think Eliza liked her cupcake??

Happy Birthday To You...

Ooh, what's that?? Fire!!

Mommy is holding me back

Not sure I like it...

Yeah... nope!

Don't want it!

Onto the floor it goes! How is it possible my child does not want cake?

It had already come in before his tooth actually fell out. It has since moved up but we called him a Shark for awhile

Just Another Besmer Day

If Eliza disappears, you can usually find her playing with Violet's dollhouse

She loves to bang the dollhouse table on the walls!

I love her expression, like... What are you doing Tim?

She's so fun

Funny Girls

Sometime last month, the kids spent the day with Grandma and Papa Tom. They went shopping to get some fun toys for the new puppy. Skip the beds! Let's just get the girls a doggy bed!!

It seems as if winter never came and summer is upon us already! We spend most of our time outside to run off as much of the kids energy as possible! However, one thing poor Eliza is always... is sick! The poor thing is in daycare just enough - Monday, Thursday and half Friday to catch everything that comes and goes! And everything the big kids pick up! So everyone always asks if she's sick... yes she is! It seems as if once she clears up one bug, another one comes and goes. But soon enough, she will be immune to most common colds and will be the super kid like her big brothers and sister! So, between the germs she picks up and the dirt she crawls through, I think it's safe to say, she's covered!

Eliza is 1!

Eliza turned one almost 2 weeks ago now! We took the picture on time. It's hard to get alone, and quiet time to upload pictures off my camera! Let's see. She has her one year appointment in a couple of weeks but she's much bigger than Violet was! She fits very well into her 12-18 month clothes and I have squeezed her into some super cute outfits that an 12 months. But let me tell you, the poor girl could not have been very comfortable as I'm squeezing her into them... and out of them! She cruises along everything but won't voluntarily take steps. She can take some steps, but will only take 1-2 steps from me to someone else. If I let go, she can stand but won't take steps. She loves to push little chairs along to aid her walking. She is a super easy baby and continues to be very happy... until she's not! And she will let you know. She says "dadada" and "mamama" and "nanana". She likes to copy noises, especially when coming from Tim. She sleeps beautifully from 630 pm, yes she is an early sleeper. She wakes up but Violet keeps her busy until we are ready to go get them up. She loves daycare and is waiting to transition into the little toddler class. She loves to climb everything! She loves to laugh and giggle when you ask her, "What do you think you are doing up there missy?" She loves to eat! And she loves to be carried everywhere! It's tough being the baby around here!
