1st Day of School!

Well, it has been a long summer and boy am I glad that school is now in session. Ashton returns to Valley Oak Elementary, our local school as a 1st grader. He is in Mrs. Wright's class and to his joy, his best buddy, Luke G. is in there! I already told his teacher she might need to separate them!

Ashton's 1st day of school. He is 5 years, 11 months old and wants to be a bull rider when he grows up!
Violet also entered her 1st day of preschool at Valley Oak Elementary. She goes three days a week and already loves it! She says she doesn't want to go to daycare anymore and wants to go to her "real" preschool everyday!

Violet's 1st day of preschool. 4 years, 4 months. She wants to be a princess when she grows up!

My school aged children! 2 down, 2 to go!

Ashton makes Eliza laugh

Eliza has a squeal, cough sort of laugh that is adorable. And if you're lucky, you can get her to snort! In the last few days, she has figured out how to roll over. She can now roll from her back to her stomach, and stomach to her back. She has excellent neck control. And in five days, will start her first day of daycare!

Watch Eliza Grow - 4 months

At 4 months, Eliza is 13 pounds, 11 ounces and 24 1/4 inches long. She is at the 36th and 37th%iles respectively for her age. So, while she looks like a chunky little girl, she remains below average! It boggles my mind! As far as developmentally, she is still exclusively breast fed, she can roll from stomach to back, lift her head up to just about a 90 degree angle, smiles, coos and laughs. She loves her swing and often naps in it. She has slept through the night once! From 9pm to 6am! Since then she has not repeated it but has gone on 4-6 hour stretches of sleep. She definitely prefers her Mama and is getting used to her brothers and sister always being around.

My Day

A friend of mine on Facebook posted her day as a SAHM. So, here is mine. This was a particularly hectic day. 1) It's summer so I have all four kids at home. Note to self: do this when they are going to school! And maybe a work day? 2) So many random things went wrong. But I guess that's normal right?

Tim Update

Tim is my big guy. His 3 year appointment isn't until August, but according to my scale, he is 32.8 pounds. Violet was only 31.0 pounds, so it's official. He's bigger. She still has about an inch on his height, but it's only a matter of time until he's bigger. Let's see. He talks quite a bit and has a lisp. I think it's because he doesn't swallow his saliva. Gross! At least he's finally stopped drooling all over his shirts. He's highly influenced by V as they are buddies. He can be found playing dress up, with Violet's princess dresses! And Ashton's old costumes as well! He still loves balloons, bubbles, and Elmo. He loves to play with V's leappad tablet. He likes to put all his coveted toys in his Elmo backpack. He loves all juice, especially lemonade. He has a healthy appetite and eats just about anything. He loves to snuggle and give E hugs. His favorite shows have been Caillou, Curious George, and currently Dora! No, he doesn't like Diego. He has been teaching himself how to swim! He can float on his stomach and likes to look underwater with his goggles. He is mostly potty trained and can even make it through the night sometimes. His personality is very cute. He is a very funny boy and has a contagious laughter. He continues to be an observer. He has yet to ride a big boy bike, on training wheels but can finally pedal a tricycle. He has just discovered he has free reign to his clothes and has taken to changing quite often... yuck! He still loves his two blankies. He has now become attached to an old beanie bear and his new Big Bird that Dad won for him at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk.

Family Pics from a Family Wedding

We attended a family wedding from M's side. It's always good to get to see his extended family. And what better photo opportunity is there to get when everyone is all dressed up?!

Happy 4th of July

The kids were dressed up in red, white, and blue and what better photo opportunity is there than that?!

I think this is the better one

I wonder if I will ever get all 4 kids to look good in this picture?!
