Ashton Completes Kindergarten

What a difference a year makes! Ashton has grown so much academically. He still is working on his maturity as he is young for his age. It seems like everyone holds their child back a year but I feel like he's smart enough to stay appropriate to his year in school. His progress report shows he has mastered all of the components of kindergarten except he is still "progressing" in his "self-control, listening, and following directions." Hmm, yes that's about right!

But it's amazing what kids are learning in kindergarten. He is writing sentences and is fairly good at sounding out words. He still writes some letters backwards but we can work on that this summer. He loves math and can count onto forever and can count by 10s. He can do addition and is learning simple subtractions. They learn about 3D shapes and at the end of the year learned about plants and animals.

So, now onto summer! Heaven help me!
