1st bath time!

Sleepy DAY

Oh no! He slept so well today! Matt has a 4-day weekend holiday for Columbus Day so we ran a bunch of errands. We had to get out of the house pretty early for a vet appointment for Parker and add Ashton to our health insurance. Other than having to take a feeding break while Matt was paying for Parker's vet fees, he slept the whole time we were out. By the time we got home, it was time to feed him again and he went right back to sleep so we decided to make a trip out to Barnes and Noble. Now I'm a little afraid he's going to be awake all evening! We'll see... At least it's the weekend, so Matt can rock him to sleep after I feed him in the middle of the night! Good news... our feeds have stretched out from 1 1/2-3 hours today! My feeding sessions have been cut in half since yesterday so far! I think my first growth spurt is over! Yeah for me!

1st tummy time

After Ashton's belly button fell off last night, we decided to spend some time on our tummies to strengthen our neck muscles! Parker and Ashton spend some tummy time together

Ahhhh!

Well, two weeks into babyhood and Ashton has finally lost his belly button nub! No one tells you how gross it still is underneath! I thought it would nice and pretty but no... it's still gross! Of course it fell off when Matt was changing a diaper... that was hilarious!

What else is new? Ashton has definitely discovered his crying voice! Not my favorite if I do say so myself. He is waking up easily from naps so he only went down for about an hour all day! I would hold him until his REM sleep appeared to be over and try to put him down. I was so disappointed that he would wake up from his nap 15-30 minutes later. Hence, my Ahhhh! So, I quickly went on Amazon.com to purchase some sleep books. Here's hoping for a good night since he didn't sleep at all today! Cross my fingers!

Watch Ashton grow

Some of my friends have compared their babies to a stuffed animal to show how much their child grows, so I've jumped on the band wagon! Look how much Ashton has grown in only 2 weeks! In just a couple of months, he will be holding this little Pooh bear in his arms! 3 days old

Growth spurt??

Happy 2 week birthday Ashton! And with that comes what I think is a growth spurt. He is up feeding every 1 1/2 to 2 hours round the clock! Not fun when it comes to the night feeds. But I think he is growing like a weed. He is finally starting to fit into his newborn clothes. Matt & I even thought he looks like he's filling in over the past 2 days. So hopefully, this growth spurt is almost done because I'm tired!

So alert!

Ashton was so alert today. A little too much though because I couldn't get him to go down for his naps. I think he was just too tired to fall asleep. We even were afraid to wake him up for his bath since it took him so long to fall asleep. We'll see how tonight goes! This is him watching his mobile in bed. It was so cute to see him realize there was something above his head!
