I think he's giggling!
Ashton is definitely ticklish and I think we are getting his first signs of giggles! Matt says it's old news, and it has happened a couple of days ago but I think it was a combination of a coo and a smile and the same time. I'm not sure... you be the judge!
We're in California!
We've arrived in California and let me tell you... traveling with an infant by plane by myself was hard. To start out, we left at 6:25 in the morning! Not so bad unless I have to wake up at 3:30am to make it to the airport on time. Then when we were in Norfolk, they didn't use a tarmac to get to the plane I was faced with going down the stairs with a stroller, car seat with baby in tow, and 2 carry-on bags. Thank goodness there was an airplane person to help me carry the stroller down. Then when I gate checked the stroller and car seat, I still had to carry Ashton and my two bags up the stairs to the plane! That was the biggest challenge. Ashton did well besides the descent on the 1st and 2nd flight in which he cried quite a bit. By the 3rd flight, he had gotten the hang of things. So we here we are, all we need to do is adjust to the time change. He kindly woke me up at 3am to not only nurse, but to play! Hopefully he adjusts to California time quickly!
He's doing so well with tummy time

Perfecting tummy time
Our 2 month doctor appointment revealed a small flat spot on the back side of his head which of course prompted the doctor to advise us to do more tummy time. I thought I was doing well since he doesn't really have a bald spot. I figured once we got the bald spot on the back of the head, we need to hit the tummy time hard. Well, here we are. Ashton occasionally accepts tummy time, but is getting better and better each time!
He's smiling because Mommy is saying... Ew! Gross!

Happy Thanksgiving weekend!
I hope everyone had a very Happy Thanksgiving! Matt's parents flew out to celebrate the holiday and meet their third grandchild. I made the whole turkey meal which turned out pretty good if I do say so myself... turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans (steamed not casserole), sweet potato casserole, and Farmer's market pecan and pumpkin pie. Yum! Ashton is becoming quite the spoiled little boy by Grandma and Grandpa Besmer. He loves being held and cuddled by them all day long! Next stop... our big journey to California is in only one week!
