Developmental Progress

Ashton's speech has improved tremendously over the past couple of months. He has quite a large vocabulary and can even put phrases together. His favorites are "Where did it go?... Where did the truck go?... It's broken." He has done well with the transition from an only child to having to share Mom but it's been a little rough over the past week with my Mom being gone. He's had some meltdowns to put it nicely. He is still obsessed with airplanes and now helicopters (calling them ta-too... not sure where that came from), he loves trucks and cars, and loves to watch himself on video. We are constantly playing the movie Cars and Up (fast forwarding to only the trucks, balloons, and airplane portions). He occasionally likes trains, so Thomas the Train it is. And of course, thanks to my Mom, we have a DVD of Ashton and airplanes. He still likes fish and monkeys but not as much as before. And he loves to color and we still read a lot of books. He loves to be outside to rake in the dirt and find bugs. He loves to find bugs. One time he walked up to me and said "bug broken." Poor rolly polly got squished. He has perfected his whining and crying and I believe we may be approaching temper tantrum stages.

Violet has started smiling and cooing. She still is a fairly good sleeper with much of her sleep being during the day. She wakes up between 2-4x at night to feed so that can be rough especially since Ashton insists on waking up at 6am! Oh boy!

She's a cutie pie :) What a chunky munchkin! And my little Ashton needs to learn how NOT to squish bugs!

Sounds like you need to be waking her up more during the day to help her get her days and nights correct. :) Liam only wakes once in the night now, and that kills me! :) Working and nursing is kicking my butt! :)
Violet is beautiful!
